Objective

Student is able to apply the knowledge and skills on the thesis process. She/he is able to solve and develop business related case by using unique and creative methods. She/he is able find and analyze information, methodsand theories critically and make suggestions based on the analyze. She/he is able to report the thesis processand findings.
The evaluation is done based on Lapland UAS instructions.

Thesis Process 15 credits:
- Research/Project Plan/ Business Plan 5 credits
- Final Report: Academic or Project 10 credits

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Learning skills:
You are able to set goals for your work, but there are major deficiencies in their clarity and the scope of the topic. You are able to build a knowledge base related to the topic, but it is unstructured, and your definition of the concepts used is highly deficient. The source material used is scarce and reads like textbooks. You are able to describe your methods and tools, but the choices relevant to your work are inconsistent and have been used inadequately. You are able to identify different phases of the process, but you do not act accordingly. You are able to finish your work, but there have been major issues with time management and/or implementation. You are able to recognise principles related to ethics and reliability but have issues acting according to these principles.


Innovation competence:
You are able to collaborate with working life partners and a possible thesis group, but it is problematic in all phases of the process. You are able to complete the assignment but need clear instructions and require lots of guidance. You are able to use existing solutions in a conventional way. You are able to create an end result/output, but it is deficient in terms of expression, form and/or technical implementation. You are able to achieve results/output related to the goals set, but they are difficult to put into use. You are able to present the results of your work orally.

Written:
You are able to report on the phases and results of your work, but the text is incoherent and provides few illustrations. You are able to write intelligible text, but it does not flow well in places and there are linguistic
errors. You are able to indicate your sources and references, but there are deficiencies and errors in the method used. The layout shows your efforts to follow the layout instructions.

You are able to plan the different phases of the process and act accordingly. You are able to accomplish your work almost according to the planned schedule. You are able to act according to the principles of ethics and reliability.

You are able to collaborate with working life partners and a possible thesis group. You are able to complete the given assignment independently and according to the planned guidance process while demonstrating professional competence. You are able to select and apply suitable solutions and working methods. You are able to create a regular end result/output that is polished in terms of expression, form and/or technical implementation. You are able to achieve results/output related to the goals set, and the results can be utilised by the commissioning company or body. You are able to present your work in an illustrative manner and focus on what is essential. You are able to effectively aim your presentation at your given audience.

You are able to report on the phases and results of your work quite coherently and clearly. You are able to illustrate your text. You are able to write fluent and coherent text. The text’s intelligibility is not impacted by grammatical and stylistic errors. You are able to indicate your sources and references in a way that does not create ambiguities. You are able to lay out your text according to the layout instructions

You are able to select the appropriate methods and tools to reach your goal and give reasons for using them. You are able to apply them consistently and assess their functionality critically. You are able to plan and implement the process and, if necessary, react to changes in a controlled and reasoned manner. You are able to accomplish your work according to the planned schedule and, if necessary, react to unexpected schedule changes. You are able to define the principles of ethics and reliability, act according to them and critically evaluate how they have been implemented in your work.
