Tavoitteet
After completing the course, students:
• understand Indigenous storytelling histories, traditions, and cultural contexts
• recognize the main principles of Indigenous storytelling methods, structures, and the origins of stories
• understand how Indigenous storytelling relates to Indigenous community expressions and the different purposes of storytelling
• become acquainted with contemporary Indigenous storytelling across various media productions, as well as with Indigenous filmmaker networks and institutions.

Active participation to the lectures, successful completion of assignments and analyses
Sisältö
History and traditions of indigenous storytelling, social, cultural context and purpose of stories in indigenous communities, types and structures of stories and media, different narrative traditions and forms: such as oral storytelling, yoik and music, poetry and narrative and non-narrative film and media productions.

ONLINE 1
Real-time teaching and studying are conducted entirely online according to a pre-planned and announced schedule. The course may include recordings and independent assignments.
Arviointikriteeri, hyväksytty/hylätty
Fail: Performance is highly deficient or erroneous. The work may be based on serious misunderstandings.
Pass: Performance corresponds to the assignment, manifesting comprehension and a skill to analyse and justify.
