Objective
The student is able to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the Highway to ICT studies, as well as their previous knowledge, in work tasks related to information technology in real-world settings. During the internship, the student becomes familiar with working life, including rules, responsibilities, and duties. After completing the internship, the student will be able to:
• describe work-related phenomena and use key concepts of working life
• perform productively as part of a work community
• act responsibly and independently
• adhere to workplace practices and ethical principles
• communicate and interact with colleagues and network partners
• evaluate and develop their own skills in relation to working life
• understand the work environment, tools, and working methods of professionals in their field.
Content
During the internship, the student may work in various ICT-related tasks, without specific restrictions on the job content. It is essential for the student's development that they learn responsibility, the rules of working life, and independent working. The student should also be able to meet the goals set by the workplace productively.
Qualifications
Successful completion of the previous Highway to ICT courses.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The student has completed the required internship duration (6 weeks / 240 hours) in a work environment and tasks related to their field of study.
Further information
The student is responsible for finding their own internship position. The teacher will provide support in finding an internship if needed. The internship coordinator must approve the internship position and job duties before the internship begins. An internship agreement will be made before the start of the internship. The internship may also be completed as part of a real-world working life project.
