Objective

Having successfully completed the course, the student will :
1) be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
2) be able to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
3) be able to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
4) achieve the level A2 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

The course is based on: listening, reading, writing and speaking exercises.
The course teaches from the following topics and grammar points, among others: comparative/superlative forms, passé-composé/imperfect tense, negative words, telling a story in the past...

Qualifications

XRAN0001 French 1 - XRAN0003 French 3 or equivalent studies.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

1) 36 hours of active participation in class (attendance min. 80%). Extra homework will be done to compensate for the absences.


2) 60 hours of self-study: preparatory work for the meetings, online grammar/exercises, vocabulary learning, homework assignments.

3) Final exam.
