Objective

The aim of the course is to provide the student with knowledge for the implementation of electrification and automation of production facilities in small and large objects. The student becomes acquainted with the implementation options for electrification, power distribution, field instrumentation and automation in production plants and with the documents produced in the planning of implementations. The student is able to design and implement in practice a small process electrification and automation.

- Various motor outputs, MCC, field instrumentation, power distribution and automation
- Process electrification and automation of a small production plant
- Components and component selection principles (Circuit breakers, fuses, control panels, safety switches, motors, sensors (position, rotation, etc.), user interface panel, indicator lamps, transformers, control panels, (selection, documentation, technical drawings, commercial documents)
- Process electric drive and electric motors,
- Design documentation (instructions, preparation, procurement process, operation-maintenance-service)
- Project report and project presentation
- Teamwork / planning team practices
- Acquisition of information in planning
- Problem solving and Techno-economic dimensioning
- Alternative implementation methods of automation and instrumentation and their comparison
- Alternative implementation methods of electrification and their comparison
- Production and presentation of documentation for electrification and automation, as well as justifications for choices and sizing

The project is managed randomly and relies on guidance.
Project communication and documentation is deficient.
Output targets are achieved under the guidance of an instructor.
The student has participated in project work, but has been mainly passive.
Satisfactory (2)
Project management is largely independent but deficient.
The communication and documentation of the project contains some factual and linguistic errors and omissions.
Output targets are achieved under the guidance of the supervisor and partly independently.
The student's activities are partly unplanned.
