Objective
The student will be able to communicate orally and textually in simple everyday situations The student will be aware of the basic structures of German and their use and achieves at least the level A1/A2 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Methods of completion
36 hours of text, grammar and structural exercises, speech training, and listening comprehension exercises. 60 hours of self-study.

Regular attendance (80%) and active participation including homework assignments (36 h). Student’s individual work (Nicos Weg A1; A2) (60 h). Final exam (written).
Content
The course teaches basic vocabulary from the following topics, among others: situations related to everyday life, such as being in a restaurant, asking for the way and telling about your own family. The course deals with basic German grammar (eg nouns, preposition, inflection of verbs, negation words, modal verbs, word order, accusative and dative forms of article words and personal pronouns). The course also introduces the everyday culture of the German-speaking world. The course includes a large amount of self-study, which is carried out through the video-course “Nicos Weg”.
