Tavoitteet

The course provides the students with an opportunity to 1) recognize the importance of communicative competence as part of their expertise 2) learn basic skills in self-reflection, giving and receiving feedback 3) develop their skills in academic speech communication. Upon successful completion of the course the students should be able to 1) understand the importance of specifying audience and purpose and to make conscious decisions about communication strategies 2) construct and deliver a presentation 3) demonstrate and employ appropriate listening skills in different contexts 4) give and receive feedback 5) develop strategies for building communicative competence 6) recognize various perspectives of ethical communication.

Lectures, discussions, and practical exercises. 24 hours of exercises.
