French: Reading Comprehension (3 op)

Tavoitteet

Having successfully completed the course the student will be able to 1. read and understand various type of texts in French including texts related to their field of study 2. know the different types of texts and their characteristics 3. acquire knowledge of strategies of reading comprehension 4. achieve the level B1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Suoritustavat

Pair and small group work and contact teaching (36h). Student’s individual or small group work, including homework assignments, preparatory work for the classes, online exercises and activities. Final exam (written). Regular attendance and active participation in exercises are also required to complete the course. It is allowed to miss a maximum of 2 classes. Extra work will be necessary to make up for any missed class.

Sisältö

In this course you will develop your reading comprehension skills in order to read various texts in French such as press articles, persuasive texts and fictional texts. Through those various type of texts you will acquire vocabulary and reading strategies to be used when reading a demanding text.
