Objective

The student recognises megatrends and their effects on work life. He/she knows how the constant changes in work life effect on one’s skills and knowledge needed in work life.

The student is able to recognise his/her strengths and weaknesses and is able to use the strengths, experience and personal interests in creating a digital professional profile and a CV.

The student knows the basic self-branding techniques and is able to apply them in creating and developing a professional profile and personal brand. He/she is able to use social media tools in professional networking and building a professional profile.

The student is able to explore suitable career options and create a job seeking and professional development plan. The student has job seeking knowledge and skills and is able to apply them in practise.

Location and time

The study unit starts on the 8th of September 2022 in person in Jokiväylä campus. There are virtual lectures given in Zoom.
Study unit event is on the 11th of November 2022 at Jokiväylä campus.

Teaching methods

Learning process is organized through the project work and problem-solving process. It includes teamwork, team tasks, team tutoring, independent studies and knowledge acquisition activities.

The student is able to recognise megatrends and changes in work life and their effects on required competence.

The student is able to name his/her strengths and weaknesses and take into account the strengths, experience and personal interests in creating a digital professional profile and a CV.

He/she knows the basic self-branding techniques and is able to apply them. He/she is able to use social media tools in professional networking and building a professional profile.

The student has job seeking knowledge and skills and is able to explore suitable career options. He/she is able to make a job seeking and simple professional development plan.

Level 2

The student is able to utilise the megatrends and changes in work life on his/her career planning and professional development.

The student is able to critically analyse his/her strengths and weaknesses in creating a digital professional profile and a CV.

He/she has a command of the self-branding techniques and is able to apply them. He/she is able to utilise social media tools in professional networking and building a professional profile.

The student has excellent job seeking knowledge and skills is able to critically analyse different career options and create a reasoned job seeking and professional development plan.

Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment is based on the process and actual skills and knowledge evaluation.
A more detailed assessment plan is given in the implementation plan.

- 1 point = 1% of the total mark
- Individual assignments:
o Module 1 – 1-5 points
o Module 2 – 1-20 points
o Module 3 – 1-5 points
o Module 4 – 1-5 points

o Module 6 – 1-5 points
o Module 7 – 1-5 points
o Module 8 – 1-10 points
o Event – 1-20 points
- Team assignment:
o Module 5 – 1-5 points
o Module 7 – 1-15 points
The student needs to get at least 30 points in individual and 20 points in team assignments in order to pass the course.
