Tavoitteet
At the end of the course a student is expected to be able to:
- tell about the development of international criminal law and evaluate the importance of international criminal law from national and international point of view
- remember and explain the main concepts and principles of international criminal law
- name the most important international and European documents adopted at the area of international criminal law and describe their main contents
- name international criminal tribunals and describe their development, statutes, jurisdiction and functions
Toteutustavat
The student must register to the correct IMPLEMENTATION and possible Moodle workspace, depending on the chosen method of accomplishment.
1) Written examination is taken in FINNISH OR ENGLISH in the EXAM electronic exam service. No Moodle registration is necessary.
2) Lectures, workshop and learning diary (ENGLISH ONLY): the accomplishment method is described in the implementation and/or Moodle.
3) Recorded lectures and an essay in FINNISH OR ENGLISH (typically spring semester): the accomplishment method is described in the implementation and/or Moodle.
Suoritustavat
There are three methods to complete the study unit.
The methods are ALTERNATIVE to each other: you must select ONE of them.
1) Written examination (all academic year) OR
2) Lectures, workshop and learning diary (typically autumn semester, availability announced separately) OR
3) Recorded lectures and an essay (typically spring semester, availability announced separately).
The study unit can be RPL'd (recognition of prior learning) pursuant to the University's general RPL guidelines.
