Tavoitteet

You are familiar with surgical/perioperative patient care and service chains as well as evidence-based national and international care recommendations and guidelines.
You know how to provide evidence-based surgical and perioperative patient treatment and care as well as patient guidance using rehabilitative nursing methods.
You know how to conduct the reporting and documentation related to surgical nursing.
You know how to systematically assess patients’ condition in surgical/perioperative nursing.
You know how to provide medicinal, fluid and nutritional treatment to surgical and perioperative patients using different routes of administration, and you are familiar with the stages of blood transfusion.
You can identify, assess and treat the pain of a surgical patient.
You are familiar with the principles of surgical wound care and know how to provide surgical patient wound care. You know how to use various medical devices as well as digital applications and solutions in surgical patient care.

Compensation for absences from skills workshops (to be agreed on a case-by-case basis)

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

- 6 credits = 162 h of student work (32 h/week)
- Radiation Safety 1op is completed during the course
- Students should take into account in their scheduling that the timed assignments for the skills workshops of the course are completed before the campus days
Attendance requirement is 100%. In case of a illness or other urgent absence, take a contact to the teacher related the theme.
