Objective

The student knows and understands the concepts of entrepreneurship and the core processes of the company and knows the importance of entrepreneurship in society. Students will be able to develop a business idea from both a theoretical and a practical perspective and will be able to identify, develop and evaluate future-oriented business opportunities and ideas. The student knows the theories and processes of starting a business. Students will be able to prepare and describe a business with the help of a business plan. Students will understand and be able to apply the role of sustainability, social responsibility and circular economy in business planning.

Key theoretical and practical approaches to business idea development
Tools and techniques for business idea development
Business case analysis and critical evaluation of entrepreneurship strategies
Setting up a startup company and its stages
Sustainability, social responsibility and the circular economy as part of business and their impact on business models

Location and time

Contact teaching in the autumn of 2025 in the premises according to the schedule. Other studies according to your own schedule.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student recognizes the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and is able to explain the basic principles of the company's core processes. The student understands the importance of entrepreneurship in society in general. Students will be able to draw up a simple business plan that highlights the basic elements of a business idea. The student is familiar with the theories and processes of starting a business, but the application in practice still requires guidance. The student recognizes sustainability, social responsibility and circular economy as part of the business but does not yet know how to apply them independently in design.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students will be able to apply the concepts of entrepreneurship and the company's core processes in business planning. The student understands the importance of entrepreneurship in society and is able to assess its effects in different industries. The student is able to develop a business idea and analyze its feasibility as well as the possibilities of the business environment. The student draws up a comprehensive business plan that includes clear justifications and calculations of the business idea. Students are able to recognize sustainability, social responsibility and the importance of circular economy for business and take them into account as part of their plan.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students are able to critically evaluate and develop their business plan utilizing future-oriented business opportunities and innovative solutions. The student is able to analyze and anticipate the development of the company's core processes and to assess the significance of entrepreneurship from a broad societal perspective. The student draws up a business plan that is feasible, innovative, and well-founded, and is able to present it convincingly, taking into account different stakeholders. Students apply the principles of sustainable development, social responsibility and circular economy to business models creatively and justifiably and are able to assess their impact on the company's operations in the long term.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course is assessed by written and/or oral assignments, some of which are assessed by number and some by scale accepted/rejected. All assignments of the course are completed with approval.
