Competence goals
You can apply evidence-based information in assessing the need and urgency of a patient's care and in making decisions.
You are able to carry out emergency and reception care work for people of different ages as part of a multi-professional working group.
You are able to prepare and refer the patient to clinical examinations and treatment procedures in emergency and reception care work and to draw the necessary conclusions. You can guide and support the patient individually in self-care and health promotion.
You understand the connection between the northern region and distances in emergency and reception care work and you are able to use digital services in the social and health sector.

Under guidance, you can assess the need for and urgency of care and decision making and identify your role as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Under guidance, you can prepare and refer patients for clinical examinations and treatments in emergency and reception services.
You know national guidelines and recommendations for emergency and reception services.
You know different referral methods in emergency and reception services.
You know the role of the northern region and distances in emergency and reception services and know available digital services in social services and healthcare.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
You can assess the need for and urgency of care and decision making and act as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You can prepare and refer patients for clinical examinations and treatments in emergency and reception services and make conclusions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Case studies in groups: Max 20 points. 100% attendance in seminars is needed.
Workshops: Minimum 75% attendance.
Online courses: Approved /Failed.
Exam: Max 25 points. Student must have at least 12,5 points to pass the exam.
Courses numeric grading (1-5) consists of combined result of the case assignment and the exam, and it will be given after passing/approved all the objectives of the course.
