Objective

Upon successful completion of the course the student should be able to:

1) identify and analyze different types of audiences and tailor content accordingly
2) use a variety of rhetoric devices to engage readers
3) assess and purposefully utilize AI powered tools for writing
4) produce high quality texts across platforms and formats.

Content

The course focuses on the basic principles of creating non-academic texts that are impactful and engaging to different target audiences. Students will learn to create written content specifically for digital outlets. The types of texts can include press releases, marketing texts, blurbs, social media, blogs and popularizing research.

Course assignments focus on developing an appropriate writing style and selecting rhetoric devices to engage different types of audiences. Students will also learn to assess and use AI powered tools effectively and appropriately when creating written content for various purposes, platforms and audiences.

Throughout the course, students will engage in practical exercises, receive personalized feedback on their writing, and collaborate with peers to refine their skills. By the end of the course, students will emerge with the confidence and expertise to produce impactful written content that captivates audiences in today's dynamic digital landscape.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Grades 1-2: The student has met the learning outcomes only partially. The student’s competence to produce engaging texts for diverse audiences is lacking. The tasks submitted follow the given guidelines only partially.

Fail: The student has not met the requirements for the course or the tasks submitted do not follow the given guidelines. The student has not met the learning outcomes of the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Grades 3-4: The student has met the learning outcomes. The student demonstrates competence to produce engaging texts for diverse audiences. The tasks submitted follow the given guidelines, although minor shortcomings may be detected.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Grade 5: The student has met the learning outcomes extremely well. The student demonstrates versatile and advanced competence to produce engaging texts for diverse audiences. The tasks submitted follow the given guidelines extremely well.
