Objective

The student is able to read texts related to his/her study topic and develop his/her own text comprehension skills fluently without supervision and will be able to solve text comprehension problems using proper reading techniques.
The student achieves at least a B1 level the overall reading comprehension skills according to the six-level European Reference Framework.

Content

The main focus of the course is in reading technique and sentence analysis. In addition, participants will learn vocabulary related to his/her field. The texts of the course are about Germany and German culture and are selected according to the students' main subjects.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Assessment criteria: active participation in class (attendance min. 80%), completion of homework tasks and online activities (Moodle), final exam.

Qualifications

High school or equivalent studies.
If you are unsure about the adequacy of your language level, you can raise your level by completing the optional German language courses German 1-4 or contact the teacher, who will assess the student's language level if necessary. The grammar repetition course also offers the opportunity to activate outdated language skills.
