Tavoitteet

Competence goals:

You are able to treat patients with major internal diseases as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
You are able to comprehensively define the patient's care needs and plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing work together with the patient and his or her relatives, and those involved in the nursing process.
You can guide and support the patient and their loved ones proactively, professionally, and by promoting health.
You are able to report orally and in writing and act aseptically and in accordance with the principles of infection control.
Under supervision, you are able to participate in examinations and medication of a patient with internal diseases, and explain the rationale behind these procedures.
You are able to work in accordance with the principles of patient safety and occupational safety.

Guided practical training at the Medical/Internal diseases work environment: Workseed - evaluation form-> personal goals and evaluations+tasks

- Evaluation discussions via cellphone/Teams or Face to Face:
MidTerm and Final, between the teacher, student and a supervisor

Contact responsible teacher and a study counsellor if you are willing to do your training in your own work environment as a practical nurse.

Total hours of the training should be 193h 45min in 5 weeks.

You understand the significance of various diagnostic tests as part of the treatment of a medical patient.
You can implement safe pharmacotherapy under guidance and assess its efficacy.
You can implement parenteral infusion therapy, nutrition and transfusions under guidance.
You can handle aseptics and infection prevention in the treatment of a medical patient.
You can document information and provide oral and written reports.

Good
You take part in and carry out comprehensive and patient-oriented nursing of an internal medicine patient as part of a multiprofessional work group under partial guidance.
You can observe and assess the vitals of a patient responsibly and almost independently.
You understand the significance of various diagnostic tests as part of the treatment of a medical patient.
You can implement safe pharmacotherapy under guidance and assess its efficacy.
You can implement parenteral infusion therapy, nutrition and transfusions under guidance.
You can handle aseptics and infection prevention in the treatment of a medical patient.
You can document information and provide oral and written reports under guidance.

Satisfactory
You take part in and carry out comprehensive and patient-oriented nursing of an internal medicine patient as part of a multiprofessional work group under guidance.
You can observe and assess the vitals of a patient under guidance.
You can explain the significance of the most common diagnostic tests as part of the treatment of a medical patient.
You can implement safe pharmacotherapy under guidance.
You can implement parenteral infusion therapy, nutrition and transfusions under guidance.
You can handle aseptics and infection prevention in the treatment of a medical patient.
You can document information and provide oral and written reports under guidance.

Fail
The student has not met the criteria for the satisfactory level during the practical training.

- You are able to comprehensively define the patient's care needs and plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing work together with the patient and his or her relatives and those involved in the nursing process.
- You can guide and support the patient and their relatives proactively, professionally, and by promoting health.
- You can report orally and in writing and act aseptically and in accordance with the principles of infection control.
- You are able to participate in the examinations and medical treatment of a patient with internal diseases under supervision, with rationale.
- You can work in accordance with the principles of patient safety and occupational safety.


Fail:

• You do not have the ability to treat patients with major internal diseases as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• You are unable to define the patient's care needs holistically. You do not know how to plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based nursing work with the patient and their relatives, and with those involved in the nursing process.
• You are not able to guide and support the patient and their loved ones proactively, professionally, and by promoting health.
• You are unable to report orally and in writing and to act aseptically and in accordance with infection control principles.
• You are unable, under supervision, to participate in examinations and medication of a patient with internal medicine, justifying their need.
• You cannot work in accordance with the principles of patient safety and occupational safety.
