Tavoitteet

You know how to interact professionally and dialogically with customers and patients of different ages and backgrounds as well as their loved ones.
You know how to take customers’ and patients’ cultural background into account when you interact with them. You know how to act professionally and ethically in various interaction situations as well as digital environments.
You know how to follow work community skills in a multi-professional and multicultural work community. You know how to communicate verbally and in writing in a competent manner, following sector-specific practices and Lapland UAS guidelines.

-Humane and respectful nurse-patient encounters
-Cultural sensitivity in nursing and work communities
-Cultural background in customer encounters and interaction
-Customer-oriented dialogic interaction
-Multi-professional work communities and teamwork
-Goal- and situation-oriented verbal and written communication in work and study situations

Opetusmenetelmät

Lectures and online lectures, two workshop days, group work, independent work, essay writing.

Essay independently. Essay must be returned no later than 17.11.2024.

You identify the principles of professional interaction when meeting customers from different backgrounds. You define customer-oriented dialogic interaction in nursing. You know the importance of culture in interaction. You also identify ethical practices in digital environments.
You name the principles of multi-professional work and teamwork. You identify aspects of your communication skills. Your verbal communication is understandable. You identify different types of text used for studies and write an understandable written learning assignment based on the Lapland UAS writing and referencing guidelines.
Fail: You have not achieved level 1.

Good (3–4)
You describe the principles of professional interaction when meeting customers from different backgrounds.
You explain customer-oriented dialogic interaction in nursing. You understand the importance of culture in interaction. You also apply ethical practices in digital environments.
You understand multi-professional work. You assess your communication skills. In your verbal communication, you take into account your interlocutors and the communication situation. You write clear written learning assignments, apply the instructions concerning the text type and follow the Lapland UAS writing and referencing guidelines.

You develop your communication skills. Your verbal communication is clear and competent, you take your interlocutors and the situation into account very well, and you use various means of communication.
You write clear and consistent written learning assignments, following the text type instructions and the Lapland UAS writing and referencing guidelines.
