Objective

The student implements a working robot. The student is able to use simulation and the most commonly used robotics tools in design. The student is able to program a robot to execute a specified task.
The student is able to apply agile methods in a practical robotics development project. The student understands the special features of agile system development and prototyping and is able to utilize suitable tools.

Content

The robot can be a mobile -, service or collaboration robot (cobot). Students assign tasks to a robot based on given specifications

Location and time

Onsite/Teams/Moodle

Teaching methods

Learning is implemented using the project learning model. The student completes the course in a team consisting of students. Each member of the team has their own role the process through. The aim is to have a robotics project built by the end of the study period using agile methods. Project topic comes from the business world, or lapland uas public project pool. The teaching team looks at the project group outputs throughout the process and gives feedback.

Exam schedules

The evaluation of the study course is based on the documents implemented during the project, software code, communication, teamwork and the skills demonstrated in the reviews. There is no exam in the course. The latest opportunity is practical training in the FrostBit laboratory.

Completion alternatives

Practical training in the FrostBit laboratory.

It is possible to carry out the implementation through your own robotics project. The project idea is approved by the teacher team and implemented within the given time window. The circular economy theme must also appear in your project,

Evaluation scale

H-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student masters the basic concepts of robotics. The student is able to search for the necessary information about robotics and understand the operation of sensors. The student is able to use actuators.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to technically define the hardware and software functions of a robot. The student is able to design a hardware platform and implement ( programming ) a robot system and related software intelligence.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to define, design, implement and test a robot system. Can use sensors and actuators in the robot in an advanced way. Able to develop the robot and its functions on its own

Assessment methods and criteria

EVALUATION OF ASSESSMENT
Evaluation of practical work takes place in all phases of the project process. T

he evaluation focuses on both the product and the process, taking into account following elements:
TEAM ASSESMENT
·Project process management
·Project outcome
·Product quality (Functionality of the whole, appearance, achievement of goals)

Individual assessment:
·Commitment to the project, presence and activity
·Structural spirit, teamwork skills, initiative, attitude and behavior

FEEDBACK: From students:
- Verbal feedback on learning progress, guidance and problem situations
- Development targets
- Processing: The teaching team processes the teaching team in meetings and in connection with viewing => reaction
* In a decision situation
- According to INNOKOMP's instrument panel. self-assessment. ( INNOKOMP meters are written down by Päivi Mastosaari )
- Project self-evaluation/peer evaluation
- Processing: Joint processing by the teaching team after the event
* Course feedback
- Processing: the teacher processes his own and reacts to the feedback he receives
From teachers:
- Processing in the meetings of the teaching team
- annual CDIO self-assessments
