Tavoitteet
The course provides the student with an opportunity to develop critical and active reading skills. The course will focus on texts and terminology typically encountered in academic study and the student’s field of study. The objective of the course is to develop skills, strategies and other resources the student will need to read academic and field-specific texts more effectively.
Upon successful completion of the course the student
1) is able to use reading strategies purposefully for critical reading.
2) identifies different types of texts.
3) recognises various text structures and terminology.
4) understands the structure of academic texts and research articles.
5) is able to analyze, interpret and evaluate different types of texts.
6) is able to follow research in their field of study.

Active participation, successful completion of the course assignments.
Sisältö
The course focuses on reading academic texts and other professional literature. Students will work collaboratively in groups to analyze, interpret and evaluate different types of texts.
Opetusmenetelmät
OENG0711 (Oral Communication), Group 6, ONLINE: The course is in Moodle, and you can work at your own pace, however, you must return the Tasks on time. The work +Tasks will be given on specific dates (work +Tasks posted at 12 noon), so you have enough time to meet the deadlines. There are no specific meetings, but some Zoom meetings may be arranged on an individual basis.
Arviointikriteeri, hyväksytty/hylätty
Pass/fail based on completion of the course assignments, active participation.
Esitietovaatimukset
Students should have completed at least one year of study in Law to provide them with necessary conceptual foundation for comparing legal systems.
