Objective
The students understand the holistic approach to company’s strategic management.
He/she understands strategic planning as an organisational management activity that is used to set priorities, goals and vision for the company.
The student is able to apply them in practice. He/she knows how to plan the strategy and is able to apply various tools for strategic planning.
The student is able to perform internal and external environmental scanning for creating a strategy plan.
Competences: Economics and Financial Management Competence, Marketing and Sales Competence, Law and Risk Management Competence, Sustainable Development Competence
Content
- basic goals, different roles and phases and tools of strategic planning processes as part of strategic management business process
- the role of foresight, total quality management and corporate social responsibility in the strategic planning and related development and assessment tools
- Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Balanced Score Card (BSC) as strategic tools

Teaching methods
The utilized pedagogical approach includes various pedagogical methods, such as lectures, visiting lecturers, visits to destinations and/or to organizations, practical projects and learning assignments such as presentations and/or narratives.
The specified timetable of the learning process of approximately ten weeks is planned together with the working life and given at the beginning of the study unit.
Tutoring and stakeholder assessment of the learning process take places throughout the study unit according to the assessment criteria.
Depending on the cooperation partners there will be a development task and/or problem implemented in the course.

Organisation’s strategic management:
The student knows strategic planning as an organisational management activity and has a holistic approach to it.
He/she knows how to plan the strategy and is able to apply tools for strategic planning.
The student is able to make an analysis of organisation’s internal and external environment for creating a strategy plan according to given instructions.
He/she understands the meaning of organisation’s environmental analysis in strategy planning.
Level 2
Organisation’s strategic management:
The student knows and is able to describe strategic planning as an organisational management activity.
He/she knows how to plan the strategy and is able to apply various tools for strategic planning.
The student is able to make an analysis of organisation’s internal and external environment for creating a strategy plan and make conclusions of the analysis.

Level 3
Organisation’s strategic management:
The student has an understanding of strategic planning as an organisational management activity.
He/she has an understanding of how to plan the strategy and is able to apply suitable tools for strategic planning.
The student is able to make an analysis of organisation’s internal and external environment for creating a strategy plan and take into account the results of the analysis.
Level 4
Organisation’s strategic management:
The student is able to use strategic management theories to provide advanced explanation of the strategic planning as an organisational management activity.
He/she has a good understanding of the strategy planning and is able to justify the use of chosen tools for strategic planning.
The student is able to make an analysis of organisation’s internal and external environment for strategy planning and utilise the results.
