Objective

Having completed this study unit (Objective skills level is A2.1 (CEFR).)
• you develop oral and written communication skills and are familiar with Finnish working life.
• you expand your vocabulary and structures to the topics related to their field of interest, e.g., engineering, international business, nursing, or tourism.
• You can communicate in simple, familiar, routine tasks, such as shopping, local geography, and employment.
• You can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need at studies and work, in leisure time, and with authorities.

- continuous learning with daily tasks in Moodle
- regular live, on campus contact lessons once or twice a week, weeks 37-46

Exam schedules

The final test will be held week 48 and includes:
- written test
- oral test

Completion alternatives

If the student already has Finnish skills on at least level A2 (CEFR), we recommend continuing to learn Finnish on a more advanced level. Please contact the teacher.

40 hrs contact lessons
90 hrs independent stuyding in Moodle and using the study book and additional material according to the weekly plan

· can react to some very basic and clearly expressed questions about everyday life

· recognizes some familiar everyday expressions related, for example, to very basic personal and family information and shopping in oral and written communication situations
· can communicate in a routine task requiring a simple and direct exchange of information related to his/her field of interest
· can describe in some simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need with assistance

Grade 4
Student
· can understand and use some familiar everyday expressions related, for example, to very basic personal and family information and shopping in oral and written communication situations

Qualifications

Finnish 1-2 study courses must have been completed or equivalent competence acquired.
