The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, focusing on the creative aspects of design for XR.
Content
upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Design and Develop XR Applications: Create immersive and interactive XR experiences, utilizing industry-standard tools and platforms for VR, AR, and MR development.
- Apply User-Centered Design Principles: Employ user-centered design methodologies to enhance usability and engagement in XR environments, ensuring intuitive and accessible user experiences.
- Integrate Art and Technology: Seamlessly blend artistic elements with technical functionalities, demonstrating the ability to produce aesthetically compelling and technically sound XR content.
- Understand XR Trends and Ethics: Analyze current trends, future potentials, and ethical considerations in the XR industry.
- Critically Evaluate XR Designs: Develop the ability to critically assess XR designs, considering aspects of user engagement, technical execution, and overall impact on the target audience.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
0: The performance is very incomplete or incorrect, or contains significant misunderstandings.
1-2: Performance is narrow, superficial, or poorly matched to assignment. The performance is limited to listing things in isolation, or dealing with things unilaterally. Execution may contain errors or ambiguities.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Performance corresponds to assignment, demonstrates understanding and the ability to analyze and justify. The whole picture has been formed, but there may be shortcomings.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The performance outlines a broad entity and the knowledge can be applied multidimensionally or placed in different contexts. Performance demonstrates independent grip and insight. Performance is an intact entity that includes justified self-thinking or critical reflection. The answer is well written or implemented.
