Objective
Having successfully completed the course, the student
1) is familiar with the basic grammatical structures of Ukrainian language and can use them in simple dialogs and small texts;
2) operates some useful expressions of time, comparison, stating an opinion;
3) understands slowly articulated audio recordings on general topics;
4) achieves the level A1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Content
Through various types of exercises both in the classroom and for independent work, the students will have an opportunity to enhance their vocabulary for everyday situations, learn some new grammatical structures, improve their listening comprehension by listening to simple audio recordings, and learn more about Ukrainian culture. The course contains in-class and out-of-class exercises in pronunciation and fluency, reading comprehension, basic communication, and grammatical functions.
