Objective

The student will be able to communicate orally and textually in simple everyday situations
The student will be aware of the basic structures of German and their use and achieves at least the level A2 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

The course introduces the basics of the German language through various speech, listening, reading and writing exercises.
The course teaches basic vocabulary from the following topics, among others: situations related to everyday life, such as congratulations, family celebrations and holiday, telling about the weather, work and hobbies. The course deals with basic German grammar (eg possessive pronouns, compound verbs, accusative and dative forms of article words and personal pronouns, perfect tense and imperfect of “sein” and “haben”).
The course also introduces the everyday culture of the German-speaking world.
The course includes a large amount of self-study, which is carried out through the video-course “Nicos Weg”.

Qualifications

No previous studies required, but the course continues with XSAK0001-0002 material. If you have studied German before or you have lived in Germany, please contact the teacher before the beginning of the course.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Assessment criteria: active participation in class (attendance min. 80%), completion of homework tasks and online activities (Moodle), self-study ”Nicos Weg”, final exam.
