Objective
Having successfully completed the course, the student will be able to
1) advance to the Reading Comprehension course TESP0201 and the Project and Networking course TESP0206
2) produce concrete information needed in light interviews
3) understand basic stylistic traits of Spanish and their purposes
4) communicate in a large variety of simple situations
5) understand Spanish and Latin-American culture
6) achieve the level A2 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Content
The course contains in-class and out-of-class exercises in pronunciation and fluency, reading comprehension, translation, communication, and reviews grammatical functions, e.g. the subjunctive.
The course includes a large amount of self-study, probably in pairs or small groups. Depending on availability, there will be a tutor to guide it. The teacher will give instructions regarding self-study at the beginning of the course.

XESP0001 Spanish 1 – XESP0003 Spanish 3 or equivalent studies.
