Objective
The aim of this course is to study structures, such as the participle, that you will need in order to understand standard language and to write factual text. The aim is to learn to write using the appropriate structures, vocabulary, and style. We will also go through some norms of correct Finnish and do exercises on writing coherent texts.
Having completed the course you will be able
1) to write private and semi-official texts and express your thoughts coherently
2) to practice use of cohesive devices
3) to recognise typical structures of standard language, such as the participles
4) to reach the level B2.1 of the six-level CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Content
This course will deepen your Finnish skills and your skills in writing various types of texts. You can point out differences between formal and informal texts. You will also work on your own texts according to feedback from the teacher. The course includes grammar exercises. The teacher and the students jointly agree on the studying method.
Qualifications
The course is available to those who have completed the XFIN0222 Finnish structure and texts 2 course and to those with corresponding skills (language skill level B1–B2).
