Objective

Having successfully completed the course, the student will :
1) be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
2) be able to introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.
3) be able to interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
4) achieve the level A1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

The course is based on: listening, reading, writing and speaking exercises.
The course teaches from the following topics and grammar points, among others: country/nationality, possessive adjectives, interrogative form/question words, food/drinks, partitive form...

Qualifications

XRAN0001 French 1 or equivalent studies.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

1) 36 hours of active participation in class (attendance min. 80%). Extra homework will be done to compensate for the absences.


2) 60 hours of self-study: preparatory work for the meetings, online grammar/exercises, vocabulary learning, homework assignments.

3) Final exam.
