Objective

Having successfully completed the course, the student will be able to
1) have an understanding of the most basic Spanish grammar
2) pronounce Spanish correctly and to define the phonetic elements of the Spanish language
3) understand and to write short, simple statements and texts
4) present themselves using short sentences
5) achieve the level A1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

The course contains in-class and out-of-class exercises in pronunciation and fluency, reading comprehension, translation, basic communication, and reviews grammatical functions.

The course includes a large amount of self-study, probably in pairs or small groups. Depending on availability, there will be a tutor to guide it. The teacher will give instructions regarding self-study at the beginning of the course.
