Objective

Having successfully completing the course, the student will :
1. deepen his/her knowledge of legal language
2. be able to read and understand different types of texts related to the legal field in French such as pieces of legislation, court decisions...
3. get familiar with the concept of syllogism and be able to write an analysis of a court decision
4. achieve the level B2 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

The course focuses on reading and writing skills.
You will acquire a specialized vocabulary related to the field of law as well as deepen your knowledge on the private and public law in France (contract, responsibility...).
Authentic documents will be used : pieces of legislation, court decisions...

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

1) Contact teaching, 12h . 80% attendance is required. Extra homework will be done to compensate for the absences.

2) Assignments on Moodle.

Course online and asynchronous (independent work).

There will be some online meetings with the students once a month if they need, for questions.
