Objective

This course aims to develop the ability to discuss and debate in French about topics related to the legal field.
Listening, interacting and oral skills will be practiced through diversified authentic documents.

On completion of the course, the student will be able to

1) use specialized vocabulary in the legal field in French
2) understand everyday French and legal French and cope with conversational situations
3) achieve the level B1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Content

In this course you will discuss and debate from videos, radio extracts and press articles about subjects related to the legal field. You will get updated on the latest current news covering legal matters in France.

During the lessons, we will concentrate on listening comprehension, pronunciation and speaking exercises through pair and group exercises and small games.

At home, you will be required to do some preparatory work for the lessons, as well as some homework and online activities.

Qualifications

Level A2 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or equivalent (e.g. XRAN0001 French 1 - XRAN0004 French 4).
