Osaamistavoitteet
Having completed the course the student can design, curate and coordinate socially and environmentally engaged art projects. Students are familiar with principles, theories, definitions and histories of socially engaged art, environmentally engaged art, community arts and dialogical and pedagogical aesthetics.
Sisältö
Outlining the differences between socially engaged art, environmentally engaged art, community arts, participatory art, dialogical and pedagogical aesthetics, arts as activism and community based art education art. The course will explore specific strategies and approaches to socially engaged art practices through readings and direct engagement with socially and environmentally engaged Art projects and/ community arts. Principles of art’s effect on wellbeing, societal justice, care institutions, environmental communication and interventions.

Participation in the course is very low. The implementation of project is narrow, superficial or poorly matched to assignment. The project report is limited to listing things in isolation, or dealing with things unilaterally. Execution may contain errors or ambiguities.

Participation in the course is regular. Implementation of project corresponds to the assignment. The project report shows understanding and the ability to analyse and justify. The main concepts, strategies and approaches of socially and environmentally engaged art has been formed, but there may be short-comings.

Participation in the course is active. The implementation of the tasks is of a high standard and versatile showing a broad entity and the knowledge of socially and environmentally engaged art. The implemen-tation of the tasks and group work aksi shows an independent grip and insight and co-operation skills. Course tasks includes justified self-thinking or critical reflection.
