Osaamistavoitteet
After completing the course the student
• understands the basic objectives and activities of contract management.
• has gained basic understanding of contract managers' work regarding the management of customer and supplier relationships, basic understanding of risk management around risks and
opportunities, contractual obligations, contract changes, claims, and information flow.
• has developed his/her knowledge and skills and acquired competences that he/she will be able to apply to contracting in practice.

• An introduction to contract management
• Basic objectives and activities of contract management and contract managers' work during contract's lifecycle
Esitietovaatimukset
Basic studies in commercial and contract law and/or in supply chain management are recommended as previous studies.

All study materials are to be found in Moodle by the beginning of contact teaching.
Lisätiedot
The course is a part of an optional study module of proactive contracting (25 credits):
1. proactive contracting and contract design (in Finnish)
2. contracting and contracts in project business (in Finnish)
3. contract management
4. proactive contracting in international trade
5. client consultation
Participation is limited to total of 30 students. 15 places are reserved for Faculty of Law students (including exchange student), 15 places for the University of Oulu project management students (including exchange students).
A pre-course case study exercise is handed over to students 2 weeks prior to lectures via Moodle. Students are required to prepare an individual response to the case study exercise and submit it to the course’s Moodle page before the beginning of contact teaching.
Assessment criteria: A case study exercise to be completed by the first lecture (20 % of the final grade), participation in classroom work (40 % of the final grade), multiple choice test (40 % of the final grade).
