• You recognize legal issues/factors in organizing sports events, in sponsorship contracts, in intellectual properties and in tv-rights.
• You recognize crimes and minor offences in sports, you know the sanctions and disciplinary proceedings, arbitration procedures and the principles of compensation for damage.
• You know the basics of employment and labour law in sports

Content

Theme 1. Sports law (as a field of law, terms, laws and regulations, basic rights, actors in sports and their legal status, legal environment of sports)

Theme 2. Sports law in the sports field (legal issues/factors related to sports events, sponsorship agreements, intellectual properties and tv-rights)

Theme 3. Crimes, minor offences and sanctions (criminal law in sports, disciplinary proceedings in sports, arbitration procedures and compensation for damage)

Theme 4: The principles of employment and labour law in sports (sports clubs as employers, rights and duties of employees and employers)

Fail: The student does not do / pass the required tasks according to the given instructions or does not participate at all.

Level 1
Sports law and its application:
- You are able to describe the legal environment of sports.
- You are able to name legal factors in organizing sports events, in sponsorship agreements, in intellectual properties and in tv-rights.
- You are able to name crimes and minor offences in sports.
- You know
disciplinary proceedings, arbitration procedures in sports and principles of compensation for damage.
- You are able to name the rights and duties of an employee and an employer.
- You recognize the meaning of sports law in the operating environment of sports.

Level 2
Sports law and its application:
- You know the legal environment of sports.
- You know legal factors in organizing sports events, in sponsorship agreements, in intellectual properties and in tv-rights.
- You know and are able to describe crimes and minor offences in sports.
- You know and are able to describe disciplinary proceedings, arbitration procedures in sports and principles of compensation for damage.
- You know the main rights and duties of an employee and an employer.
- You are able to apply sports law.
- You understand the meaning of sports law in the operating environment of sports.

Level 3

- You understand and are able to describe by using examples crimes and minor offences in sports.
- You understand and are able to describe by using examples disciplinary proceedings, arbitration procedures in sports and principles of compensation for damage.
- You understand and able to describe the main rights and duties of an employee and an employer.
- You are able to apply sports law by identifying the legal problems, relevant legal sources and making a conclusion.
- You are able to take sports law into account in the operating environment of sports.

Level 4

- You have a command of legal factors in organizing sports events, in sponsorship agreements, in intellectual properties and in tv-rights.
- You have a command of crimes and minor offences in sports.
