Objective
Theme 1. Providing experiences in nature based sport tourism
Nature based sport tourism is a case base study where your study group is solving nature related developing projects to companies round Lapland. The main thing is to learn how product planning is working and learn how to use innovative methods to produce new experience based products to working life. You also learn how to consider sustainable developing and basic to economic thinking in tourism.
The pedagogy arrangement in this section: 10 % theoretical studies, 20 % case guidance, 60 % group work and 10 % evaluation.
Theme 2. Adventure pedagogy and developing coping skills
In the course, you will learn how to use adventure pedagogy methods to develop children's and youth personality, improve their self-esteem and manage personal life. You will learn tools how to teach your group to follow rules, make necessary compromises, and point out to understanding the consequences to their decisions through adventurous experience in surrounding nature. Adventure pedagogy is a skill to lead a group to situations which participants can feel be an important part of the group and build their confidence to survive in everyday situation. In the best case, nature and loyalty of group in work will point out the skills and abilities they did not know they had. However, adventure pedagogy methods can be used to work on several goals in a group or individual goals.
The pedagogy arrangement: 10 % theoretical studies, 60 % of the workshops (may last several days, outdoors) and 30 % reflection.
