Pass
The doctoral researcher has demonstrated a fundamental understanding of the key elements of the writing process and is able to apply them in their own work. They are capable of developing a clear, though occasionally uneven, writing style and can produce argumentative texts that are generally logical and fluent. While there may be occasional lapses in clarity or structure, the doctoral researcher shows an ability to communicate ideas effectively. The doctoral researcher has participated in peer collaboration, offering and receiving feedback in a constructive manner, although there might be some room for improvement in engagement or the depth of critique. Additionally, they have shown an awareness of writing for different audiences and purposes, though the execution may lack consistency or depth in some instances. The doctoral researcher demonstrates a basic understanding of the principles of publishing in international journals.

Fail
The doctoral researcher has not completed all course assignments to an acceptable standard and/or has not participated in online teaching sessions. The doctoral researcher has not demonstrated a sufficient understanding of the basic elements of the writing process and struggles to effectively employ these in their own writing. Their writing style is unclear or inconsistent and their texts often lack fluency, logical structure or coherence, making it difficult for readers to follow their arguments. There are significant gaps in the ability to produce logically sound, argumentative text. Collaboration with peers is minimal or ineffective, with little contribution to the feedback process or difficulty in accepting and integrating peer and teacher feedback. The doctoral researcher has shown limited awareness of writing for different audiences or purposes, and their attempts to adjust writing style accordingly are often unsuccessful. Significant improvement is needed across multiple areas in order to meet the course objectives.
