Having completed this study unit,
· You recognize the unique environment of the Arctic and how the sports industry functions.
· You identify the interregional benefits of good practice exchange and the European Union funding mechanisms to promote health and well-being.
· You can identify corporate social responsibility in sport and the impact sport organisations can have on communities.
· You recognize the different characteristics of regions and cities that define them globally as areas of sporting excellence.
· You know the infrastructure required by regions and cities to promote physical activity and well-being to all generations.

On-campus teaching, includes time-bound instruction and scheduled learning tasks.

• Active discussion and debate – Students engage in discussions and argumentation on the topic, facilitated by the teacher.
• Problem-based learning (PBL) – Students independently seek solutions to given problems.
• Inquiry-based learning – Students search for relevant information from various sources and develop new perspectives.

Suoritustavat

The study unit is worth 5 credits, which corresponds to approximately 135 hours of total work. Your workload is distributed on average as follows:
o On-campus/online study and workshops: 24 h (e.g., weekly 3-hour lectures and exercises)
o Independent learning and preparation: 40 h (reading materials, exercises, learning assignments)
o Group work and collaborative learning: 35 h (project work, peer feedback)
o Assessed assignments and final evaluation: 36 h (preparing the project work, reporting, presentation/exam)
