He/she knows the role of supply chain management in modern business and the role of sustainability in logistics.
He/she understands how environmental impacts on product design, procurement, production, packaging, warehousing, transportation and delivery are reduced and measured.
The student understands the importance of recycling and how reserve logistics systems operate.

Excursion to Finnish Forest Administration on April 18th 2024 in the afternoon. Guest Lecture provided in Pilke House in Rovaniemi by Forestry Expert Eric Raunio (Metsähallitus). Practicial insights of supply chains and logistics around the Finnish forestry sector.

• 60 % of the grade!

Presentation part:
Course work individually or in pairs will be 40 % of your grade!
Presentations will be on May 3, 2024 and May 7, 2024
Presentations will be 15-20 minutes plus 5-10 minutes discussion!
Choose a company as suggested in the classroom and explain their supply chain situation and what matters for them in terms of regional and global logistics! As a hint, it might be more insightful to choose a production company, instead a service sector company.
• Explain why you have chosen the company and introduce the enterprise!
• Describe the inbound and outbound logistics situation of the company! At which point are they in the supply chain, meaning from whom do they receive supplies and for whom are their products supplies?
• How could you measure sustainability in the supply chain for the company?
• What are the major obstacles for transportation and logistics in the market(s) of your case company?
• Give recommendations, what could be done to improve supply chain management in the company?
• Add freely anything else that seems to matter for your case and the task!
