Objective

Upon successful completion of the course, the student:

1. is able to make conscious choices about communication strategies in different academic and professional contexts
2. is able to adapt their language use according to the communication situation
3. is able to collaborate in teams, negotiating to solve problems and presenting information clearly and concisely
4. recognizes the connection between culture and communication and can apply this knowledge in communication situations
5. has developed strategies for continuous learning of communication skills and spoken English.

Content

This course emphasizes the importance of communicative competence as part of students’ academic and professional expertise. The course will focus on developing skills and strategies for discussing themes from their studies, negotiation and problem solving, collaborative teamwork and intercultural communication.

Qualifications

Students should have completed at least one year of study in Law to provide them with necessary conceptual foundation for comparing legal systems.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass/fail based on completion of the tasks, active participation, and meeting the required attendance.
