Objective
The objective of the course is to familiarize students with the basics of research work, different types of research methods and techniques, such as constructive method, case study and survey, questionnaires and interviews. The course will illustrate the differences between different methods and will show the students the main stages of research process. Another objective of the course is to improve the participating students’ ability to critically read scientific texts written in their field of specialization, i.e. articles from scientific journals and professional magazines. The students will also learn to compile text with reliance of different rhetorical modes with the primary aim to coach them to write their research proposal and ultimately complete their Bachelor’s Thesis work.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
To pass the course students has to full fill following assessment criteria:
The research proposal was not completed on time or requires major changes. The topic is weak and moderately relevant. There are serious methodological drawbacks in the proposal requiring further development. The objectives and the research plan are understandable but too general. The student did not fully take into account the feedback from the instructors.
The use of rhetorical modes is severely deficient, and the style is not correct. The text is not logical and there are major shortcomings in the concepts and other vocabulary. There are errors in grammar and paragraph and sentence structures. The source information is flawed to an extent, and the layout practices are managed randomly. The instructions given during the writing process were not appreciated. There is no copy-pasting.
