Objective

The students enhance their reading, writing, spoken production, spoken interaction, and listening proficiency in English for efficient work as students and for their future professional careers. The specific objectives are as follows:
The students learn to explore and choose appropriate texts for study purposes. They acquire proficiency in reading academically relevant texts and articles for comprehension dealing with their study-field-specific topics in order to extend their academic knowledge. They learn to write documents, such as academic essays, study reports, summaries, and abstracts. They develop confidence and proficiency in their academic writing skills, including the use of rhetorical modes, i.e. communication strategies. They learn to discuss various articles and texts, and report them in writing and in speaking in group discussions in class. They gain proficiency in giving oral presentations, participating in meetings to discuss requests and quotations they write. They learn to write agendas, minutes and memos for meetings. They learn to write CVs and job applications and communicate in job interviews.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

To pass the course students has to full fill following assesment criteria:
Objectives and contents of written and oral texts are contradictory. There are major flaws in the use of concepts and vocabulary. Few rhetorical modes are relied on. Communication is highly deficient in grammar, and in sentence and paragraph structures. These problems impede intelligibility. Communication is consistently lacking in appropriate style. Texts are invariably deficient in giving the source information and using the layout practices. The feedback for corrections is not taken. There is no-copy pasting.
