A weekly plan is given in the implementation plan. Weekly business classes are being held.

Objective

Having completed this study unit:

- You are able to plan and implement business activities in a business project.
- You recognize the role of different business processes and their interconnection in practice and understand the main principles of profitable and responsible business.
- You are able to carry out business-related tasks as a responsible and active member of a team
- You are able present the outputs of a project as instructed, both orally and in writing.
- You are able to identify the basic principles and concepts of working in a project

Content

Implementation of business-related tasks and the business processes in practice
Main principles of profitable and responsible business in practice
Working as a responsible and active member in a team
Implementation of a business project/ basics of project work
Networking with working life
Presentation of the outputs of a project

Location and time

Spring 2026 weeks 6 - 19.

Materials

Study unit material is provided during the study unit implementation.

Teaching methods

Learning process is organized through the project work and problem-solving process. It includes teamwork, team tasks, team tutoring, independent studies and knowledge acquisition activities.

Employer connections

The Arctic Valley game is a business simulation. Visitor from a bank. An entrepreneur visiting.

Exam schedules

No exam. Closing seminar on week 19. All assignments must be completed by the closing seminar.

International connections

Co-operation with the Finnish liiketalous students.

Student workload

The study unit is 5 ects which means 133 hours of student's work.

You are able to recognize the basic principles and concepts of working in a project.

Level 2
Team and project work as part of business implementation
You are able to plan and implement business related work tasks in a project according to the given instructions as a responsible and active member of a team.
You know the role of different business processes and their interconnection in practice and understand the main principles of profitable and responsive business.
You know the basic principles and concepts of working in a project.

Level 3

You are able to plan and implement several business related work tasks in a project as a active and interactive member of a team.
You understand the role of different business processes and their interconnection in practice and understand the main principles of profitable and responsive business.
You understand and utilize the basic principles and concepts of working in a project

Level 4
Team and project work as part of business implementation
You are able to plan and implement several business related work tasks in a developmental approach by taking responsibility for the whole team and its results.
You understand the meaning of the different business processes and their interconnection.
You are able to utilize the main principles of profitable and responsive business to evaluate the performance of the business.
You have a command of the basic principles and concepts of working in a project

Level 5
Team and project work as part of business implementation
You are able to plan and implement several business related work tasks fluently by taking responsibility for the whole team and its results. You are able to reflect your own actions and the actions of the team members.
You can foresee the meaning of the different business processes and their interconnection.
You are able to analyze the performance of the business and give suggestions to develop the business.
You have a command of the basic principles and concepts of working in a project and you are able to analyze the success of the project.
