Placement options:
Health care center: Emergency and outpatient department
Hospitals: Emergency and outpatient department, intensive care units, wards, where patients need mainly emergency care. Also, children's and family care units, wards and departments, incl. private sector, women's diseases and birth units, youth psychiatric units etc.
Teaching methods
Practical training promoting professional skills, for which a supervisor is appointed from the workplace and a supervising teacher on behalf of the school.
In the practical training student uses Workseed's electronic evaluation book, in which the student records their personal goals, as well as mid-term and final evaluations. The student also shares the evaluation book for the workplace supervisor. The teacher also monitors the setting of goals and the progress of the training through the evaluation book.
Mid-term and final evaluation discussions will be held with the supervising teacher, at the time of which the student agrees with the teacher. The participation of the workplace supervisor in the evaluation discussions is desirable.

The student must have completed the theory courses Nursing in Emergency and Outpatient Services and Supporting and Promoting the Wellbeing of Children, Young People and Family in Nursing Care before this practical training.
In addition, tuition-specific medical calculation must be successfully completed!
The responsible teacher should be notified of the practical training workplace and time well in advance via the registration form in the Moodle Hoitotyön harjoittelut -workspace, after which the teacher accepts or rejects the practical training proposal.
