Objective

Objective skills level is A2.2 (CEFR).
Students develop and deepen oral and written communication skills and are familiar with the main aspects of Finnish society.
Students can interact in Finnish in routine tasks related to areas of immediate relevance and their field of interest: for example, making an appointment, writing a simple email, and telling their opinions.
Students recognize and understand the characteristics of Finnish society and values.

Student
· does not reach the objectives of the study unit or does not complete or pass the compulsory assignments

Grade 1
Student
· knows and can react to few very basic everyday expressions related to immediate need and/or his/her field of interest

Grade 2

· recognizes some familiar everyday expressions related to areas of immediate need and her/his field of interest
· can briefly communicate in a routine task requiring a simple and direct exchange of information
· can react to some very basic and clearly expressed questions about everyday life

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Grade 3
Student
· recognizes some familiar everyday expressions related to areas of immediate need and her/his field of interest
· can communicate in a routine task requiring a simple and direct exchange of information
· can describe in some simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need with assistance

Grade 4
Student
· can understand and use some familiar everyday expressions related to areas of immediate need and her/his field of interest
· can communicate in routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information
