The student • understands the purposes of the packaging printing industry and the ongoing change • understands the influence of the paradigm shift caused by changes in the market to the packaging printing industry • knows the printing processes used by industry and is able to describe their functional properties • knows materials used in packaging printing and the whole life cycle of packages • knows companies in the field of packaging printing and the way the business parameters are changing, especially by the influence of environmental goals • perceives the importance of packages and packaging printing to the society

The course is built out of following subthemes • change processes in the packaging industry • new and future technologies in the packaging printing industry • basics of the different printing processes used in the industry • sustainability and its high influence to the packaging industry • (new) solutions of the companies, new operators
