Objective

Students - Recognize the diversity and pluralism of society and communities and can professionally assess their own relation to them. - Are able to recognize and assess structures and actions that hinder or support diversity. - Are familiar with the legislative basis of non-discrimination, human rights and equality and able to implement these in their professional practice. - Are able to recognize special needs that arise from the diversity of people and workplace communities and, acknowledging these,can promote accessibility, occupational safety and the accommodation of working conditions. - Learn skills for professional intercultural interaction and integration.

Content

- The concepts of diversity, pluralism, multiculturalism, accessibility, equality and non-discrimination - international human rights treaties, national legislation, especially Equality Act, Non-Discrimination Act and Accessibility Directive - planning of equality and non-discrimination, Equality and Non-Discrimination Plan - structures and actions supporting or hindering diversity in the world of work and in society

Location and time

The e-learning course can be completed mainly independently. Small groups should agree on a working schedule among themselves

Materials

All the material needed for the course (videos, references for the tasks etc.) can be found on the Hoodle platform of the course in electronic form.

Teaching methods

The course consists of various online materials and assignments (individual and small group). Students will complete some of the learning tasks in small groups and provide peer feedback to each other. Students are expected to actively participate and interact with other students.
