Content scheduling
The course consists of four (4) sections, each of which has a subtitled video lecture of about 20 minutes. You can also find the slides of the video lecture as pdf files. You can test what you learned in the lecture in multiple-choice exam found in each section.
Objective
The purpose and goal of this course is to raise awareness about board work and lower the threshold for becoming familiar with it. After completing the course, the student - Understands why an organization has a board - Is familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the board - Recognizes the importance of strategy in the context of board work

Location and time
The course and the Moodle is open 1.8.2025 - 31.8.2026. You can complete the course at your own pace. You will automatically see this course in Moodle once you have been accepted into the course (about during 24 hours after you got accepted to the course). Please be patient. Check all the pages in Moodle if you don't see the course in the front page. Note: Cross-institutional student from other universities, enroll the Moodle with your tuni.fi-account. Here you can controll the account if needed: https://salasana.tuni.fi/frontpage?lang=en If you are about to graduate, complete the course on good time. For example, two weeks before you apply for a graduation. After you submit the last assignment, we will check your work and mark the credits within 1-2 weeks. Note that during holiday seasons (example christmas and summer) there is longer delays to get the credits.
Teaching methods
The course is completely self-study, so you can complete it at your own pace. The course consists of four sections, each of which contains a video lecture of about 20 minutes and related exam. We strongly recommend completing this online course before participating in Future Board Practices course (available only in Finnish)

The course consists of self-paced online study. With the help of short videos and learning tasks, you will be guided to achieve the learning outcomes. The course is completely self-study, so you can complete it at your own pace.
