Objective

The object of the course: You will continue to learn the basics of the Russian language. By the end of the course, you are able to use simple phrases and sentences in spoken and written production. You expand your vocabulary and knowledge of language structures needed in everyday situations. You will be able to act in accordance with the norms of Russian culture in typical communication situations. Course competences: The course prepares and equips you to act and work in an international and multicultural environment. The learning objectives of the course: You can interact in simple and routine everyday situations, although problems in pronunciation and pauses may affect communication. You understand the main points of a simple text. You are able to write a simple text using the vocabulary and structures you have learned on the course. You understand the cultural differences between your home country and Russia. Starting level: A1.2 Objective: A2.1 (according to CEFR)

Content

Russian speaking and writing skills needed in common everyday situations. Pronunciation Communication: Telling about yourself, describing experiences, housework, travelling, shopping, studies and work Grammar: Central grammar includes the present tense, verbs, cases, plural nouns and adjectives, the place and form of adjectives and adverbs Cultural knowledge: cultural features of Russia.

Qualifications

Russian for beginners 1 (5 ECTS) at JAMK or CEFR level A1 (https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/sites/default/files/cefr-en.pdf) or successfully completed Russian courses 1–2 in a Finnish high school as a B3-language.
