Objective

The student will be able to communicate orally and textually in simple everyday situations The student will be aware of the basic structures of German and their use and achieves at least the level A2/B1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Methods of completion

36 hours of text, grammar and structural exercises, speech training, and listening comprehension exercises. 60 hours of self-study.

Regular attendance (80%) and active participation including homework assignments (36 h). Student’s individual work (Nicos Weg A2) (60 h). Final exam (written).

Content

The course introduces the basics of the German language through various speech, listening, reading and writing exercises. The course repeats a lot previously learned basic German grammar (eg personal pronouns, numbers, nouns and articles, conjugation of verbs, articles, possession pronouns, negation, questions, modal verbs, vowel changing verbs, compound verbs, word order, sub-clause and main clause, prepositions, accusative, dative and genitive case). The course also introduces the everyday culture of the German-speaking world. The course includes a large amount of self-study, which is carried out through the video-course “Nicos Weg”.
