Content
This course is designed to enhance students' proficiency in academic writing at an advanced level. For bachelor’s level students, we recommend completing a basic academic writing course (TENG0013 Academic writing or equivalent) before this course. In the course, students practice writing high quality academic texts, such as essays, research papers and/or their thesis. Students learn to formulate clear thesis statements and practise organizing ideas, creating logical flow, and maintaining coherence within and across paragraphs and sections of their writing. The course focuses on argumentation, persuasion, and techniques for constructing well-supported arguments using logical reasoning, evidence, and rhetorical strategies. Students will employ strategies for process writing and practice giving and receiving feedback on written texts.
