Objective
On completion of the course, the student will be able to 1. use specialized vocabulary in the legal field in French 2. read and understand different types of texts related to the legal field in French 3. describe the French legal system and the domains and sources of law in French 4. know the main concepts and phraseology relating to the French judicial institutions and EU institutions 5. achieve the level B1 of the CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Contact teaching, 12h. Discussions and questions. Independent work online (Moodle), 69h. Reading the material on Moodle, completing activities and writing tasks for each unit. 80% attendance is required. Extra homework will be done to compensate for the absences.
Content
In this course you will acquire specialized legal vocabulary in French as well as an overview of the French legal system and the EU institutions. The domains and sources of law in the French legal system will also be studied through different types of text. The course includes various activities and exercises including reading, writing, listening and discussion sections.
